Luke's Mom

Is there really anything in the world that is greater than being a mommy?!?! I don't think so. Being a mom to Luke is such an awesome thing! It takes my breath away when I realize the awesome, scary, amazing responsiblity that God has given me and Chuck by blessing us with our wonderful child. Our little Luke loves us with reckless abandon, and my heart sometimes feels like it could explode with the love that I feel for him. As we're getting closer to Thanksgiving, I catch myself really thinking about the things in my life that I am so thankful for. My Savior, my husband, my son, my family, my friends, my health...the list could go on forever! I am such a blessed person, and so many times I don't stop to count my blessings. I am going to try to remind myself daily to praise my Savior for all of the blessings in my life, and to learn from my son how to love, my Savior, with reckless abandon.

If my feet could just reach the pedals!

When Chuck brought Luke over for lunch the other day, he was standing on the driver's side, looking in. I didn't realize who he was looking at until I got to the truck, and this is who I found!

What a nice surprise!!!

Take me out to the ball game!!

Okay, so it's a little late in the year to be singing baseball songs, but since the Phillies won the World Series, what the heck! This is another picture from when Chuck watched Luke on Friday! My little ball player!! I hope he wants to be a pitcher, and not a catcher. That way I wouldn't have to worry about someone taking him out at the plate!

Best friends for life!

Leah, our boxer, loves Luke! She didn't know what to think of him when he came home from the hospital, but now that she's realized he's a human, she loves him. Our cocker spaniel, Dixie, likes all the smells that come along with having a baby, but she doesn't really seem to notice Luke as much as Leah does. Luke's started smiling at the pups lately when they walk by, or when they start sniffing him. It's really sweet.

My Husband ROCKS! Friday

Chuck rocks because he loves his family, and he feels that family is the most important priority, after God. There are so many husbands who put other things in life above their family, and I am so thankful that my husband is not one of those husbands. I know that whatever decision Chuck is making, he is making it with God and our family first in his mind.

Luke's smile

So, as everyone knows, yesterday was Veteran's day. I am so thankful for the men and women of our country who fight and have fought to protect our country! I had off since I work for the government, so Luke and I got to spend the entire day together!! We had a great time. He took a long morning nap, so I got to go back to sleep for a little while which was awesome. Then we went to Barnes and Noble and got him lots of fun books. Then we headed over to Old Navy and the mall to do more shopping. Then we went to a Discovery Toys open house, and I got Luke some fun presents. It's amazing how it's no longer fun to buy things for myself, but I love buying things for Luke. I guess when you have children, you just want to give them everything in the world! I have to stop myself at times, but it's hard to resist his adorable face. I'm in trouble when he gets old enough to realize how much his smile melts my heart!

My Husband ROCKS! Friday

One of the many reasons why my husband rocks is because he does so many things for me. Fridays are Chuck's days off from work. He takes care of Luke all day, and he always brings him by my work so we can have lunch together. It is so nice to see him and Luke during the middle of the day. He also cleans up the house on Fridays while he watches Luke and does some of his work for school, but he always finds time to stop what he's doing to drive over to see me. So, that is one of the many reasons why my husband rocks!

Don't wake me, I'll wake you!

Our little Luke fights naps like a champ, but when it becomes nighttime it is a totally different story. He is out like a light! Mornings when he wakes up on his own, he is soooo happy to see you when you look over the crib at him. His legs and arms start going crazy when you unswaddle him because he is so happy he just can't contain himself! He smiles and giggles, like you being there is the best thing in the world. However, when you wake him up instead of him waking you up, he is not a happy camper! He covers and rubs his eyes with his hands, and he squints at you. When he finally does open his eyes, he looks at you with an expression that says, what in the heck are you doing?! Finally, he'll snap out of it and give you a smile, but he definitely lives by the motto, "Don't wake me, I'll wake you!"

Raspberries

So, Luke has a new thing. He loves to blow raspberries. He has discovered his tongue, and the fun noises that his mouth can make. The last two mornings I have been awaken to boat noises in the monitor. He thinks it is the greatest thing in the world! I blame this on Chuck. Chuck thought it would be fun to make Luke laugh by making "power boat" noises, as he calls them. This should be lots of fun at the end of this month when we start feeding Luke solid foods. I don't think Chuck will think it's too cute when he has carrots and green beans all over his face, thanks to Luke's "power boat".

My little TI double G Errrrrr

So, Luke went as Tigger for his first Halloween. I figured that I only get so many Halloweens that I get to pick his costume, and odds are that when he is older he will not want to be Tigger. He's going to want to be some rough and tough football player or some action hero, I'm sure. Chuck brought him by my work so I could show him off, and then we all went out for lunch together. It was a fun day! I was Dr. Lara, hence the scrubs. :)

New

So, this is oficially my first blog, ever. No one is going to really read this, except for my mom, but that's okay. I thought I would create it so she could see new pictures of little Luke. So, we'll see how it goes. Hope those who read it enjoy.
